Perfect Join for Working in the Round
This is the best method I have used.
Follow the next steps to create the perfect join for work in the round:
Never start with a slip knot! A slip knot is good to use when working flat, to create a very sharp corner ( there are exceptions when you need to use it in the round and it has to do with the pattern itself). Instead, wrap the yarn around the right needle and start casting on stitches (use your preferred method).
You have to cast on ONE additional stitch to what is required by the pattern. This stitch becomes the base-wrapped stitch when you join to work in the round.
Check that the stitches are not twisted around the needle before joining work in the round.
Keep the working yarn and the end of the yarn from the cast on at the back of the work. Slip the last stitch from the right needle onto the left needle. Slip the second stitch on the left needle over the first stitch. Slip the first stitch from the left needle onto the right. Make sure the free end of the yarn from the cast-on is placed over the working yarn at the back of the work.
Place the beginning of the round stitch marker on the right needle, and start working in the round in pattern.
